    Knoxville Events | May 7 – 9, 2021

It’s Mother’s Day weekend! After a somewhat soggy week in East Tennessee, the weekend looks to be clear and dry for all the mom’s out there. We hope everyone is able to celebrate with loved ones and enjoy spring in the Knoxville area. Here’s a few events you might want to check out…

Townsend Spring Heritage and Bluegrass Festival

Head out to Blount County Friday and Saturday for the Townsend Spring Heritage and Bluegrass Festival! Enjoy live bluegrass bands all day, shop with lots of local arts and crafts vendors, watch artisan demonstrations and enjoy some good southern food. Parking is $10 per day with proceeds benefitting the Townsend Volunteer Fire Department. A free shuttle is also available from the festival to other Townsend attractions like the Little River Railroad Museum and Cades Cove Cellars.

    Blackberry Smoke at the Shed

Concerts are slowly hitting the calendar around the region and one of the first live events scheduled is Southern Rock act Blackberry Smoke. This Atlanta based band is playing Friday and Saturday night at the Shed in Maryville, TN. The Shed Smokehouse & Juke Joint is a 16,000 square foot covered outdoor pavilion dedicated to hosting Americana, Southern Rock and Country concerts while serving up some of East Tennessee’s best Bar-B-Que. Take the short drive from Knoxville to Maryville for a great meal and concert.

The Market at Mary Costa Plaza

Saturday May 8th from 10am-1pm at Mary Costa Plaza is the Market Square Farmers’ Market. The plaza at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum is the temporary home for the Market Square Farmers’ Market until the city of Knoxville approves a post-COVID return to Market Square. The event features local, farm-fresh food as well as artist and craft vendors from the Knoxville area. Parking is free at Garage B on Howard Baker Jr. Avenue and there is no charge to enter the market.

Don’t forget about Mother’s Day! Take mom out to eat, go for a walk, have a cook out or just spend some quality time together. If a home search is part of your plans this weekend, give the Billy Houston Group team of agents a call at (865) 577-SOLD. We’d love to show you Knoxville homes for sale and help you give that special mom in your life a gift she’ll never forget.
