The town has many parks and greenways including Anchor Park, a 15-acre park next to the lakefront which offers walking, softball, soccer, fishing, volleyball, basketball, and picnic facilities. It is also close to Concord Park and Mayor Bob Leonard Park (50 acre facility) and Playground which offer similar amenities. Campbell Station park is a 17-acre park next to the Farragut branch of the Knox County Library System. Farragut’s multiple greenways include Grigsby Chapel Greenway, Turkey Creek Greenway and Parkside Greenway. Sports are also very important in Farragut. The community sponsors spring, summer, and fall sand volleyball leagues as well as softball leagues. If you are a golfer – Farragut is for you. There are many golf courses nearby including Willow Creek (18 hole course) which is known for the Bermuda trees and fairways and roughs with best grass greens. Avalon Landmark Golf Club is 18 holes of challenging slopes and terrains and will also host tournaments through the year. Farragut is also home to Fox Den Country Club, a full-service country club with golf, tennis, swimming, fitness, and a restaurant. Farragut is also the home to arguably the largest shopping center in Knoxville, Turkey Creek. In this large outdoor shopping complex, you can find many popular restaurants, stores, and a large movie theatre. It’s schools are typically top-ranked nationally. Residents of Farragut are zoned for Farragut High school, Hardin Valley Academy, Farragut Middle School, Farragut Intermediate School, and Farragut Primary School. It is also close to many private schools including Knoxville Christian School, St. John Neumann Catholic, and Concord Christian School.
